What is depicted next is very interesting. The Bible says “But when the king came in to look over the dinner guests, he saw a man there that was not dressed in wedding clothes, and he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here without wedding clothes?’ And the man was speechless” (Matthew 22: 11-12 NASU). The man was thrown out of the banquet.
What did his wedding clothes represent? They represented his self righteousness. Our righteousness is a filthy garment to God. We cannot be good enough to attain heaven. The man at the banquet did not have on the righteousness of Christ, which is put on when someone is born spiritually through the new birth.
This person tried to get into the greatest wedding banquet there will ever be. This is when Jesus the bride marries the groom. The groom is the body of Christ. We will all be there if we are clothed in the righteousness of Christ.
