The book of James has a lot to say about the tongue. James says, “No one can tame it and it is full of deadly poison. With it we curse men and bless God”.
Is this the way things should be? James says it definitely isn’t. James also asked the following questions.
Does a fountain send out from the same opening both fresh and bitter water?
Can a fig tree produce olives, or a vine produce figs?
Do we get fresh water and salt water from the same place?
Neither should cursing and blessings come from the same mouth.
