There is only one way the body will give in to the mind. You must make the body suffer. The mind can only regain control by taking it back and not yielding to the tantrums that the body is throwing. The body must learn to do without. It must be told “no” repeatedly before it will be willing to give up the tantrums that it is throwing.
A parent must tell a child “no” in order to get the child to give up throwing a temper tantrum. The first time a child is told “no” will not be the last time that a child will throw a tantrum. The child may wait a minute, an hour, a day, or even a week but they will try to get their way somewhere in the future. If we stand our ground then the frequency in which the child will throw a tantrum will decrease with time.
So it is when our body is not given its way. It will slowly but surely stop sending the urges that cause us to yield to temptation. It eventually comes to the realization that the mind has taken over and is not going to give in to the body.
