Any old dead fish can float downstream. It takes a strong, live one to go upstream. What are you? What are you like? Are you like the dead fish floating downstream? It takes no effort to live this way. Or maybe you are like the strong, live fish that goes against the current.
Floating downstream is something that generally starts as peer pressure around us tries to get us to do what everyone else is doing. You have heard people say, “Everyone’s doing it,” or “If it feels good, just do it.” These are just two examples of the thinking taking place in our society that cause us to do things that we never thought we would.
We do these things because they are the easy way out. We don’t want to have to confront anything or anybody, so we just lie down like a dead fish floating downstream and go along with the crowd.
Be like the strong live fish. Go against the crowd. You will be glad you did.
