For instance, imagine you are driving down the street. You decide to make a left turn into another lane and fail to see someone in your blind spot. Even though this is not something you did on purpose, the other person pulls up beside you, making all kind of obscene gestures towards you in the process.
You can react one of two ways: you can look at the individual beside you and think, “Well, that’s a bummer. That poor soul doesn’t handle problems well.” Or you can flash a bunch of obscene gestures back at that person.
How you react is all about attitude. Would it bother you if the same scene just took place in China and you were not there? The answer is, “No,” and that is because it did not involve you. It was not personal to you. So why is this situation any different? It is only personal to you because you are making it personal.
In this situation someone else has a problem with self control. Just because that person is weak should not be a reason for you to be weak also.
