We can understand a child that gets angry and uses that anger to try and get their way. As adults be should get beyond our childish ways. I can’t help myself is only an excuse for failing.
In Proverbs it says, “Like a city broken into and left without a wall, so is a person who lacks self-control” Proverbs 25:28 (from GOD'S WORD Copyright © 1995 by God's Word to the Nations Bible Society. All rights reserved.)
When we don’t get our way, instead of having a negative emotional outburst, we should simply catch ourselves and say, “Oh, I see I’m not getting my way here.” We can defuse the anger because we recognize it for what it is. It’s a strong emotional feeling that comes from not getting our way.
Remember Love never demands its own way.
