When I was young I broke my arm. If someone hits me on that arm it still hurts. Many of us have been hurt emotionally. We hurt when others hit our emotional wounds. Others unintentionally hurt us because they cannot see our old wounds.
When others poke our wounds unknowingly we think they are the source of our pain.
Our pain comes from past wounds of the heart. Our wounds are still tender and easily enflamed. We must recognize our own internal wounds so we can tell others what causes us to hurt.
The person hurting us is not the problem. The problem is that those that hurt us are unaware of where we hurt and why we hurt. Until they know they can’t help.
