When we don’t consider new viewpoints we think we are preventing information from filtering our minds which might be wrong. That actually increases our possibility of being wrong. We end up shutting off sources of information that are contrary to our current beliefs. When we do that we shut off the sources of what could help us see the truth.
In Biblical times many people believed Jesus was a fraud. Many thought they were right and listened to the Pharisees? The Pharisees mocked anyone who believed in Jesus. A religious leader said, “So Jesus has fooled you also! Have any of the leaders or the Pharisees believed in him? No” John 7:46-49 (NCV)!
