When we want to believe there is not a God we will prove to ourselves that there is no God. What if we were seeking evidence that there was a God? Would we be looking for different evidence? Sure we would. The difference is then we would have a chance to look at all the evidence. We could honestly look at both sides of the coin. We cannot be biased to one side if we want to be objective.
Do you believe we came from monkeys? Do you believe there was a big bang and order came from it? Those beliefs take me more faith than believing in God ever has. I believe the big bang happened when God spoke the universe into existence.
We will not be able to understand God until we are born spiritually. Without being born again we can only gather enough information to give us a strong belief in God. That does not mean we will understand him. That belief can motivate us to put our trust in God through faith in Jesus. Only then will we be able to understand the things of God. In Corinthians we read, “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned” (1 Corinthians 2:14 KJV).
Sometimes we have to work our way through all the false teachings before we can really see what is true. I have seen some of the false teachings that exist in the Christian world. No wonder some people are so turned off by the so called Christian teachings. The wolves in sheep’s clothing confuse people. Matthew warns us about them when he says, “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves” (Matt 7:15).
Do not just believe what you want to see. There is more to Christianity than meets the eye.
