In James it says, “A big forest fire can be started with only a little flame” James 3:5-6 (NCV). So it is with our words.
When my wife and I got married we made a commitment to God and one another. That commitment was to never purposely hurt one another with our words. We vowed to never joke about our marriage and make a comment such as “I guess I’ll just have to get a divorce, if you don’t change”.
Idle words can be the spark that starts a raging fire in our conversations. Make sure you weigh every word carefully.
